Whether you have a small company or you’re running a larger business and are planning on attending a small, local event that just can’t accommodate your largest trade show display, consider using smaller, table top displays. Avoid Busy Printed Tablecloths

Most table top displays are designed to be used with a tablecloth or other type of cover. These covers add a little bit of class to your table top displays, but you have to use the right type. Instead of choosing a busy, printed cloth that competes with your company’s table top display, choose a simple one in a solid color that matches your company’s logo or brand colors. It’s also possible to have the cloth screen printed with your company’s logo to further your brand awareness.

Make Sure the Graphics are Simple

Simple is best when it comes to graphics on your table top. Although you might be tempted to cram as much information on your graphics as possible, the truth is that attendees will glance at your exhibit for about three seconds. If they can’t tell what you’re trying to sell, they’ll walk on by.

Use uncluttered graphics and bold text in bullet points so that it’s easy to see the highlights of your business. Avoid large blocks of small text because these are hard to read. Also make sure that the text color is easy to see, even from a distance.

Place Business Cards and Literature in Front of Your Display

One of the biggest benefits of using table top displays is that you don’t need to worry about squeezing a literature rack into your exhibit space. Instead, you can use the table to store marketing brochures, business cards and other literature that you want to have readily available. However, it’s important that your table doesn’t seem cluttered or overrun with brochures. Leave just a few of them visible and stash the rest underneath the table, hidden by the cloth. This will keep your table looking professional, yet extras will be readily available.

Using a simple and solid color cloth, easy to see graphics, and forgoing a literature rack in favor of putting your business cards and marketing materials right on the table can all help your company make a big impact, even though your display is smaller.

  1. Great article Bob! We have 6 tradeshow booths in a varierty of sizes to fit shows from 20×20 down to a 6′ table. The booth that all the staff prefer to take is a mirage table top we purchased from your a few years ago. Most guys probably take it because it’s easier to setup, but it definitely still looks good and the largest project we have ever had come out of a tradeshow was came from a local association event where we were displaying the 6′ tabletop.
