Hiring Outsourced Trade Show Booth Staff? Don’t Scrimp on Success!

Hiring outsourced trade show booth staff is a wise investment for an exhibitor.

After all they are the TRADE SHOW professionals. There is no other medium like a trade show, and traditional sales and marketing tactics do not translate well into a trade show environment. Unfortunately, too many exhibitors do not realize the nuances of trade shows, and do not have a successful show as a result.

The solution for success? Supplement your trade show team with outsourced booth staff.

When you hire outsourced booth staff to supplement your trade show team, these individuals must be held accountable for the same level of dedication and success as your company employees. They must represent your corporate culture. And they must act as an extension of your company, not as “hired help.”

Thorough screening must be done prior to hiring to ensure the perfect fit. An experienced and results driven trade show professional with a solid work ethic and a knack for engaging attendees into qualifying conversations will make a huge difference in the success of your trade show program. Just as an inexperienced, immodest, impolite, inflexible, indifferent, irresponsible, inconsiderate… or inexpensive… person will be not only a waste of money, but could be detrimental to the success of your show or the image of your company.

Be sure to research your outsourced trade show booth staff.

Many individuals claim to be outsourced booth staff, so spend time researching and interviewing those you are selecting to represent your company on the trade show floor.

  1. Look for someone who has trade show experience, a good work ethic, a passion for their job, and an image that matches the image of your company.
  2. Find out if they have experience in your industry and if they can walk the walk and talk the talk.
  3. Question if they are results oriented and if they are there to do whatever it takes to make your strategic trade show marketing plan a success.
  4. Do an internet search to get a feel for their reputation and how they portray themselves on social media.

Don’t scrimp on success. Hire the best!

Remember that you are hiring outsourced booth staff to represent your brand and to be an integral part of your trade show team. You get what you pay for… so be sure not to scrimp on success!

  1. This is so true.. If you want a trade show model or lead generator, then you must research the image and experience is the so important. Ask for their resume and personally interview them via Skype or phone conference. This way you can tell if they can talk and their look is the same as their picture as well if they are experienced with engaging attendees at trade shows. So many times a client will call for a model and just select from their picture without looking at the type of experience they have at trade shows. It is so important to look at their work resume.
